BIG FIVE GAME DRIVE

In association with Atherstone National Park Schoongezicht Offers visitors the opportunity to see the big five (excluding lion) in their natural habitat.

Schoongezicht has full game driving rights in Atherstone National Park which is only a 20 minute drive from Kudu Lodge.

GAME DRIVES

Schoongezicht has a wide variety of vehicles, from quad bikes to a Mercedes Unimog (4X4 truck that can carry up to ten people at a time). Animals are quite used to vehicles since almost no hunting is done from them.

Night drives are very popular and this gives you the opportunity to see many nocturnal creatures.

BOW HUNTING

• Bow hunting is mainly done from 10 different hides at selected watering holes.
• No rifle hunting is allowed near hides to ensure the bow hunter a fair chance of bagging his dream trophy. The game is also quite comfortable around the hides.
• The hides are constructed in such a way as to easily accommodate a hunter and a photographer. Seven hides are elevated by two metres and most shots are taken at a distance of 20 to 30 meters.
• Schoongezicht has also constructed one of the best pit blinds in the bow hunting industry. This 4X 5 meter thatch roof hide with built in bed and septic toilet ensures a 5star comfort experience for any hunter.
• This hide was constructed in such a way as to allow five people seating room with sleeping room for one, allowing for maximum comfort while you wait for your dream trophy.
• For the more experienced hunter, walk and stalk is allowed. However, this requires much time and patience, with the hunter in constant contact by means of two-way radio.
• Be sure to bring some practice arrows along, as Schoongezicht has all the necessary practise facilities for bow hunters to raise their confidence with a few shots before the hunt.

HORSE RIDING

This horse riding experience will give you the opportunity to see the wildlife from horseback. Well-trained horses are free of charge for any guest on Schoongezicht.

CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING

Every hunter normally enjoys this activity. The range is on the banks of the Marico River and creates the perfect scenery for this activity.
